Fellow Tea Maineiacs

    We are so grateful for your support and passion for our  "tea vision" over the last, nearly 15 years!  It has truly been a humbling, overwhelming, and incredibly surreal journey. 

In 2024 we made the difficult but necessary decision to shutter our storefront and transition the business to online only. That transition has allowed us time to be actively involved in our new grand baby's life, and we are SOOOO GRATEFUL for that opportunity!!

What I didn't anticipate was just how much I would miss the day-to-day happenings of running the storefront (and I don't mean the not so fun stuff like washing dishes, dusting, paperwork, cleaning the bathroom etc!). What I enjoyed more than anything was welcoming everyone as they entered the shop, the great conversations, and so many laughs over the years! So much so, that for many, the line between "customer" and “friend"  definitely blurred.

While switching to the online platform has certainly provided us the opportunity to focus more attention on spending precious time with our granddaughter. It also allowed us to continue sharing our passion for tea. However, from a personal standpoint, not having the daily interactions with everyone has left me feeling a bit unfulfilled. Delivering tea to a few "regulars" that live very close by has helped but unfortunately it doesn't replace the many folks I had the pleasure to see and talk with every day when the shop was open. All that leads to yet another VERY DIFFICULT but necessary decision!! 

After much conversation and debate, we have decided it is time for this chapter in our lives to come to an end. Please know this decision did not come easily. But ultimately, my original vision was not an online tea business which has proven to not fulfill my day to day social interaction needs ( no one to tell dad jokes to or banter with ). 

We know this will be very disappointing news for most. Many have commented over the years that we have turned them on to either loose leaf tea or just tea in general. This has made the decision all the more difficult!

Going forward the plan is as follows…

We will still be in business through the end of the year. 

We will still be ordering and blending most teas as usual.

Some of the less popular, slower moving teas will not be reordered.

Most of the holiday teas will still be available. And, we plan to make them available much sooner this year. 

Effective immediately, gift cards are no longer available to purchase and, we strongly encourage everyone who has either a physical or e-card to use them before the end of the year. 

We will send email and social media updates regarding seasonal teas, discounts, etc.

For those in our loyalty program. Starting Nov 1st you will no longer earn points on purchases but can still redeem unused points through the end of the year.

It has been a mindblowing nearly 15 years in business. Of which not a single day would have been possible without such incredible support from the residents of Winterport and far, far beyond! 

Saying thank you just doesn’t adequately convey the gratitude Debbie and I feel but…
